COVID-19 LOCKDOWN CHALLENGES LIKE POLLUTION AND LOCKDOWN

INTRODUCTION
Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is a communicable disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus.

Most people infected with the COVID-19 virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory disease and recover without requiring special treatment. Older people and people with underlying medical problems like heart disease, disorder, diabetes, chronic respiratory illness, and cancer are more likely to develop serious illness.
The best course of action to prevent and hamper transmission is being well informed about the COVID-19 virus, the disease it causes and the way it spreads.
The COVID-19 virus spreads basically through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose. When an infected person coughs or sneezes, so it’s very important that you simply maintain a 4-meter distance from everyone.

At this point, there are not any specific vaccines or treatments for COVID-19. However, many ongoing experiments are evaluating potential treatments?
ORIGIN
  • Scientists have been trying to penetrate the emergence of COVID-19 and the virus that causes it: SARS-CoV-2.
  • Originally, scientists believed the virus may have prospered in bats, and then later pangolins.
In the space of a couple of weeks, we’ve all learned tons about COVID-19 and therefore the virus that causes it: SARS-CoV-2. But there have also been a lot of rumors. And while the amount of scientific articles on this virus is increasing, there are still many grey areas on its origins.

How different countries are approaching coronavirus testing
In which animal species did it occur? A bat, pangolin or other wild species? Where does it come from? From a cave or a forest within the Chinese province of Hubei, or elsewhere?
In December 2019, 27 of the first 41 people hospitalized (66%) passed through a market located in the heart of Wuhan city in Hubei province. But, consistent with a study conducted at Wuhan Hospital, the very first human case identified did not frequent this market. Instead, a molecular dating estimate supported on the SARS-CoV-2 genomic sequences indicates an origin in November. This raises questions on the link between this COVID-19 epidemic and wildlife.

SYMPTOMS
Common symptoms include fever, cough, and difficulty in breathing. Other symptoms may include fatigue, muscle pain, diarrhea, sore throat, loss of smell, and abdominal pain.
IN INDIA, LOCKDOWN DUE TO CORONAVIRUS BRING BLUE SKIES AND PURE AIR
Inside the world’s largest lockdown, there aren’t any flights, any passenger trains, any taxis, and few operating industries. But one thing astonishes abundant: cleaner air.
India is engaged during a desperate bid to “flatten the curve” of coronavirus cases before they overwhelm the creaky health system during this nation of quite 1.3 billion people.
In the meantime, the three-week lockdown is flattening something else — India’s notorious pollution. The speed of the change has surprised even experts, who say it is proof that dramatic improvements in air quality are often achieved, albeit at a tremendous human and economic cost.
Days after the lockdown began on March 25; the scale of particle pollution considered most dangerous for human health fell by nearly 60% in New Delhi, India’s capital, according to an analysis by experts at the nonprofit Center for Science & Environment. Similar drops have happened in other major Indian cities.

In normal times, Delhi is the world’s most polluted megalopolis. For much of the winter, air quality readings remained at levels that in the United States are considered unhealthy or worse. Last November, the towns experienced its longest spell of hazardous air since such record-keeping began.
These days, Delhiites are stuck at home except when picking up essential goods. But above them are blue skies, the moon and therefore the stars, seen without the standard barrier of smog.
In other parts of India, the Himalayan mountain range is visible from a distance for the primary times in years.

Waterways choked by industrial pollution, like Delhi’s Yamuna River filled with gray foam just months ago are flowing unimpeded.

Water flowing in the Yamuna is much clearer now.

The current reduction in pollution has come at a sheer price. Much of the Indian economy has been idled, forcing helpless workers to travel hundreds of miles to their home villages on foot. Millions might be plunged into poverty or hunger if the lockdown continues beyond its initial three-week period.
But experts say that there are still lessons to be gleaned, including a chance to imagine a special future.
EFFECT OF CORONAVIRUS ON POLLUTION AROUND THE WORLD
Venice isn’t the only place where the coronavirus is erasing the ill-effects of human activity

In China, the epicenter of the pandemic, the decrease in factory productivity meant that residents of Hubei Province saw some of the clearest, most pollution-free skies in recent memory.
Satellite images obtained by NASA and the European Space Agency also showed a dramatic decrease in harmful emissions over major Chinese cities between January and February, when the virus was spreading rapidly.

Away from the Chinese mainland, on the island of Hong Kong, similar results were reported, with air quality in the city improving since the implementation of containment measures.
These findings were the subject of a CNN report titled “There’s an Unlikely Beneficiary of Coronavirus: The Planet”. It’s interesting to see how quickly nature seems to reassert itself when human activity ceases.
CONCLUSION
Covid-19 is a pandemic which is spreading widely. 125,859 people have died so far from the coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak as of April 15, 2020. There are currently 1,990,097 confirmed cases in 210 countries and territories. The fatality rate us still being increased. But the mother earth is healing itself; it is the way of the nature to tell human beings to take it easy on the “whole exploitation of earth” things we have doing for centuries.
It’s time for priorities to be re-evaluated.
