CUSTOMER SERVICE IN LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT

CUSTOMER SERVICE IN LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT
(Special Case During Covid-19 Pandemic)
INTRODUCTION
Customer service is the way logistics interfaces with marketing and as such represent the output of the firm’s entire logistics effort. The concept of customer service arrives when a customer demands any product and he demands when he feels need of it.
Tips to Outsource Customer Service and Making it Work
Customer Service is a process that provides value added benefits to the supply chain in a cost-effective manner. Customer service is a big challenge in today’s life and it literally means bringing customer back. The role of customer service is to provide time and place utility in the transfer of goods and services between buyer and seller. In this pandemic time it is very difficult to provide goods and services to the customers when there is no production. The goods are transported through supply chain to customers so that the time and place utility can be used properly. There is no value in the products and services until it is in the hands of consumer. The most important thing is that the consumer should like the product which is available to him because customer/consumer is the king of the market. If a person likes any product then he will promote our product by referring that product to others as well, simultaneously if a person does not like the product and get the product when another product has fulfilled his need then he will spread his negative reviews about that product in the market.
Main Phases of Customer Service
  1. Companies are trying to acquire new customers by promoting their products in the market.
  2. Companies are providing their products which were earlier stored in their warehouses.
  3. Companies are trying to meet their customer requirement by providing goods to their footsteps.
  4.  Companies enhance the relationship between them and their customers so that their existing customers may get benefit from it.
  5. Through customer service companies are trying to retain their profitable customers for life.
  6. Through customer service, companies are able to build close cooperation and partnering relationships with their customers.
  7. It involves the integration of marketing, sales, customer service, and the supply chain functions of the organization to achieve greater efficiencies and effectiveness in delivering customer value.
What Online Shoppers Want in Customer Service | NetSuite Blog

Practical Examples of some prominent companies:-
Amazon.com: Amazon.com eGift Card: Gift Cards
  1. Amazon is also providing goods and services to their customers so that their needs can be fulfilled and they may get food or grocery products for their smooth survival. Amazon also donates their huge funds in order to relief organizations as well as public. They increase their grocery capacity delivery from Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods Market as quickly as possible. They also enhances cleaning in all their stores so that their stores would be able to work as disinfectant. They are focusing on high-priority items to ensure the fastest delivery of household staples, medical supplies and other high demand products coming into their fulfilment centres. They are also providing their products at reasonable prices and contribute to the environment during this crisis. They are also contributing to the environment by various ways like they are donating 8,200 laptops to the Seattle Public School Students who do not have access to any device at home. They are all also hiring 1,00,000 part time and full time employees  and looking for talent in every community where they operate. They are also providing an option of ‘unattended delivery’ where the customers do not prefer to come in contact with others.
  2. Grofers are also providing their services to their customers in such a difficult time. Grofers will give their customers transparency around stock levels. They provide stringent checks for safety on your order. They are stay committed to their most affordable prices even their goods are entirely stocked out situation. They are also taking various precautions in packaging and delivering. They are also implementing necessary precautions advised by World Health Organizations (WHO) on prevention of COVID-19. Now, their supplies are passing through different areas where crowd may not be found anywhere. They are also maintaining their supply chain in such a way that does not leads to anything related to offline footfall on stores. The delivery personnel are being monitored and their crates are washed and disinfected after every usage. As they are having fewer options of delivery so the customer should expect a few days of time from order to delivery. They are also avoiding the act of Cash on Delivery as it may be a source of transfer of virus from one person to another.

Lockdown cripples online delivery platforms, users helpless

7R’s of Customer Service
The 7 Rs of logistics
  1. The Customer should get the right product whatever he has been demanded. If the customer has ordered some grocery then he/she must get that particular grocery.
  2. The right product must be delivered to the right customer instead of any other person.
  3. The customer should get the product at the right time which means the time that company said delivery would take place. But it is very difficult for them to deliver in such pandemic time so the company should take proper time.
  4. The customer should get the product at the right place so that the satisfaction level of customers could be maintained.
  5. The company should deliver the product in right condition which means product should be in right position free from any kind of damage.
  6. The company should provide the product at right cost to the customers; they shouldn’t think to get benefit of any such pandemic.
  7. The company should provide the product in right quantity so that the need of customers can be fulfilled in an effective and efficient manner.
Conclusion
It’s important for a logistics company to know the market, so the company can provide the correct level of convenience to customers. This enables the logistics manager to recognize customer service requirements and to attempt to fulfil those demands. In such a situation by segmenting the market, the logistics company can easily determine which customers will be most profitable, thus showing the company which customers should receive higher level of convenience. Thus, there is a need to cooperate with each other so that customer needs can be managed/maintained.

Pollution and Lockdown

Introduction:

2020 is a unique leap year which has 29 days in February, 300 days in March and 10 years in April. You all Know why I am saying this. Today the entire world is suffering from a very rare virus named as Corona Virus (Covid 19). What is Corona ? It is a deadly gift given by China to the whole world. As the time is passing, it is deepening its roots in many countries of the world. Lacs of people have died in the whole world due to this deadly virus. The thing which is considerable is that its vaccine has not been developed yet. To face this challenge, various defencive measures are taken by many countries. But the best approach which is adopted by the countries is the lockdown in the country. Due to the lockdown, the citizens of the country are facing a lot of problems. But it is a fact that lockdown influences the nature in a very different and positive way. It makes the nature flourishing by reducing the pollution. Let's see how.

Purpose:
It's the irony of the time that we human beings are deemed to be locked in the houses while the nature is free to flourish like it has no limits. I can undoubtly say that the spread of corona virus (Covid19) has adversely affected the entire world but it is also true that it has made the nature bloom to its fullest. I want to convey the message that if we free the nature then we can see the entire beauty of it. This is the main idea that I want to pass on to you. My purpose is to motivate and encourage the  readers to experience this massive change in the environment which comes up because of lockdown due to covid19 pandemic. We all should also have to make efforts to maintain this change.

Subjectivity:

A few days back, I woke up at 6 a.m. in the morning ( yaah it is very difficult in the days of lockdown),  I was surprised by the soothing sound of the chirping birds. It's the nature's destiny that such a normal event has become so precious. But I want to ask you who is responsible for making that event  a rare event.

This is not only case I have experienced. There are many things which indicate the nature's freshness due to reduction in pollution. In these days of lockdown, when I stand in the balcony of my house I feel very fresh and pure air which I haven't experienced yet. Now the whole sky seems to be clear which earlier fills with the pollution. The Ozone Layer over the South Pole or Antarctica is also  healing at a good  pace.
There is one more live event which shows the effect of lockdown on pollution. This event is of city Jalandhar (Punjab, India). Due to the lockdown in the whole country, the degree of pollution reduced to such an extent that now the Himalayan mountains are visible from the Jalandhar city. This is the power of lockdown and beauty of the nature which was  hidden somewhere.

Now it comes up only because of lockdown.

Let's see  how the pollution is curtailing  because of lockdown. After the implementation of lockdown, all the persons are supposed to be in the houses. As a result of this, no vehicles are  moving on the roads here and there, hence, pollution is diminishing. Also all the small and big industries are closed. Many of these industries releases waste in different forms. But because of their closure, there is a magical cut down in the degree of pollution.

Conclusion:
I am not denying the fact that what has been happening due to the Corona Virus pandemic. But it is also unavoidable that it has boosted the nature's growth. On the one hand, it is a curse for human beings while on the other hand, it is a boom for the nature. I pray that the world gets free from this dangerous virus as soon as possible but at the same time I also want that effective measures must be taken for continuous improvement of environment and also for maintaining the change.

CORONA AND POLLUTION

Coronavirus Lockdown, India's Cities See Clear Blue Skies

Contamination is the presentation of contaminants into the indigenous habitat that cause unfavorable change. Contamination can appear as concoction substances or vitality, for example, commotion, warmth or light. Toxins, the segments of contamination, can be either remote substances/energies or normally happening contaminants.

Air Pollution has constantly went with human advancements. Contamination began from ancient occasions, when man made the main flames. As per a 1983 article in the diary Science, "sediment" found on roofs of ancient caverns gives abundant proof of the significant levels of contamination that was related with deficient ventilation of open flames. Metal manufacturing seems, by all accounts, to be a key defining moment in the formation of huge air contamination levels outside the home. Center examples of ice sheets in Greenland demonstrate increments in contamination related with Greek, Roman, and Chinese metal creation

In India, the coronavirus cloud has a silver covering: clear blue skies.

India entered the world's greatest lockdown a month ago and the legislature requested 1.3 billion individuals to remain at home as the quantity of coronavirus cases climbed.

The jury is still out on the adequacy of those stringent measures in ending the spread of COVID-19. India has somewhere in the range of 6,000 dynamic cases and in excess of 200 passings, with the quantity of new cases rising consistently. Be that as it may, the lockdown measures appear to have coincidentally explained, in any event briefly, another general wellbeing emergency: air contamination.

Across India, vehicular traffic has been sliced to just about zero. Huge ventures surging dark smoke into the environment are shut. Building destinations that are normally humming with action, heaving residue and dry concrete particles into the air, are shockingly empty.

This has significantly decreased the fixation in the quality of fine particulate issue known as PM2.5 and PM10.

Maybe no place is the drop in contaminations more articulated than in the nation's capital New Delhi, which for the most part has probably the dirtiest air on the planet.

Delhi occupants are accustomed to admiring see a cloudy, dim sky. Presently they're posting pictures of clear blue skylines via web-based networking media.

The air is regularly so dirtied that it leaves a bitter taste. During winter, smoke from crops consuming across northern India drifts into the city and the contamination perusing crosses 900 — up to multiple times over as far as possible endorsed by the World Health Organization. Flights are grounded occasionally and schools are compelled to close.

In late March, as India started its 21-day lockdown, the Air Quality Index in Delhi dropped as low as 45. Around a similar time a year ago, it was around 160. Since the lockdown, Delhi and its rural areas have even delighted in days when the air quality was authoritatively named "acceptable" — the best class. That is happened just a bunch of times in the previous hardly any years.

India's focal contamination control board says 85 Indian urban areas noticed an improvement in air quality during the primary seven day stretch of the lockdown. In Jalandhar, in the northwestern territory of Punjab, contamination levels dropped to their most minimal in 10 years and inhabitants had the option to spot snow-topped Himalayan pinnacles in excess of 100 miles away.

Web-based social networking is overwhelmed with pictures of things that individuals can unexpectedly observe from their windows — some more credible than others. One individual kidded he could see the Eiffel Tower from focal India. Another said they spotted outsiders on Mars. What's more, somebody composed that he could see divine beings from his gallery.

COVID-19 AN INVISIBLE ENEMY

INTRODUCTION
Today, the whole world is very much problems invisible enemy i.e; COVID-19.

COVID-19, another name, corona virus is an infectious disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome corona virus 2(SARS-COV-2).This was first identified in dec,2019 in Wuhan(CHINA) and has since spread globally , resulting in the ongoing 2019-20 corona virus pandemic. Common symptoms include fever, cough and shortness of breath. Other symptoms may include fatigue, muscle pain, sore throat, loss of smell and abdominal pain.

PURPOSES
Its common purpose will continue to deliver programmes. However, this will be done through digital and virtual means. It is important to build strong and diverse networks to provide the advent of social distancing. The priority should be health and the purpose should also focuses on health.

SUBJECTIVITY
According to me, everyone should be entitled to their own opinion and you should always cross-check with external references. So I can say that COVID-19 is subjective as everyone has their own opinion and it may be biased.
Our government had introduced lockdown for 21 days and now lockdown is implemented till 3 may. The lockdown had made its impact on many important aspects of our economy. Let us see its impacts.
IMPACT ON INDUSTRIES/BUSINESS
Lockdown has made a drastic effect on the industries. For example the lockdown has shown its impact on the textiles industries. The apparel industry is severely hit all over the world. Stores are closed and almost all buyers are cancelling or postponing orders as they have big inventories. They msy not place orders in the next few months as well.

IMPACT ON EDUCATION AND E-LEARNING
The locked down has shown its extreme impacts on the education sector. All the schools and colleges of the world are closed but yaw; it gave drastic progress to the e-learning sector. Online classes are taken by the students and teachers are also giving their best efforts by giving online classes so that their syllabus would not get disturbed.

WORK FROM HOME – CHALLENGES AND PROSPECTS
NASSCOM former president R. Chandrasekhar said the work from home systems being adopted by several firms across the globe, including India, may have a negative impact on the industry in the short term, but in the long run it would change the working style. According to me not giving up and arming our self with research is the prospect of work from home.

POLLUTION AND LOCKDOWN
The lockdown forces us to remain in our houses. This made the people somewhat frustrated. But the lockdown has given happiness to the environment and us. The Ganga River which was the most polluted river at a time now is very pure and the level of pollution is fallen very much. Now we can breathe in the fresh air and drink clean and pure water. In this way, lockdown brings a new life to us.

IMPACT ON ECONOMY
From cities under lockdown to most affected communities, we look at how the outbreak of this deadly disease affects the world’s economy. For example corona virus could cut costs in world’s most expensive cities. Labour and daily wage workers are getting jobless. Indian economy would like to see only 2% growth in 2021.

CONCLUSION
At least, I can say that COVID-19 or corona virus should not be taken lightly because it is a deadly disease. We can be protected if we follow what the government had ordered and should be taken proper precautions like washing hands for 20 seconds in every 20 min. And many more.

Web Based Learning

Web based learning gets its minute due to COVID-19 pandemic: Here's the manner by which instruction will change

Computerized learning goes standard in a rush and that will overturn current training practices, models, and procedures going ahead. It is web based learning's pivotal turning point and instruction is going to be redone the same amount of the businesses that are going to remote work because of the novel coronavirus.
The COVID-19 pandemic has constrained K-12 school areas and colleges to close and send understudies home. This reality has constrained an intensive lesson for web based learning plans and innovation for understudies and workforce.
In numerous regards, the training business' transition to remote guidance rhymes with the work-from-home move in undertakings. Video conferencing stages, for example, Zoom and WebEx are being utilized vigorously as are learning the board frameworks like Instructure's Canvas, Blackboard and Google Classroom. What's more, there are empowering programming, for example, Proctorio, a Google Chrome augmentation that screens understudies taking tests on the web. Furthermore, similar to the ventures, training's mammoth online instruction analyze will quicken changes that were at that point in play. I'm encountering the online training test as a parent and an aide educator at Temple University.
THE TECHNOLOGY
The main explanation that colleges and some school locale K-12 have had the option to go to remote learning is that the innovation stack has developed a decent piece over the most recent four years.
However that stack could utilize further improvement. I've attempted the majority of the enormous learning the executives frameworks somewhat, and as a rule,
I'd summarize the classification along these lines:
Google Classroom benefits since it is well-known to many.
Canvas has an environment of additional items and
strong work process, yet UI could be more clean.
          Blackboard is like Canvas.
Video conferencing is basic to the instruction stack so there is a major open door for an organization like Zoom to make a play for a more youthful nearly proficient client base.
Apple, Google, and Microsoft have different pieces of the instruction stack, yet the procedure on the backend is the place online training is empowered.
At last, learning the executives frameworks are somewhat similar to ERP in that they take care of business, yet you're won't get warm and fluffy about them.
By and large, I'd give the online instruction stack a normal evaluation with heaps of space for upside. However, indeed, online instruction is conceivable, and the stack works without a moment to spare for COVID-19.

UPSKILLING TAKES CENTER STAGE
The instructive procedure will be reworked on a quickened timetable because of the novel coronavirus pandemic.  Is training about constant learning or handling a degree and a vocation? Is training about self-investigation and being all the more balanced? Or on the other hand is training in a physical setting excessively inflexible? Also, maybe the greatest inquiry of all: What are the profits on instruction corresponding to current obligation loads?
Every one of those inquiries move to the front as I watch this intense training in computerized learning unfurl. As a parent, I watch my high schooler experience the ill effects of lack of sleep because of sports, beginning occasions, and schoolwork load. I watch the order required for web based learning. I take a gander at a falling 529 school investment funds plan and miracle about how computerized learning may extend educational cost dollars. I likewise consider how learning can be time-moved to address various issues.

THE CULTURAL CHANGE
Like all innovation movements and change endeavors the greatest difficulties for the most part include social change. A couple of things worth considering:
1.        Online learning requires discipline. Instruction requires discipline as well, however internet learning has less hand holding. That the truth is going to support a particular kind of understudy more than ones that are attempting to discover their course on their own timetable.
2.        Learning will be digitized. Paper is fairly encouraging, as are overrated reading material. Both are leaving (not excessively I'll miss the reading material cost gouging). This procedure change will mean the personnel needs to go advanced and change styles.
3.        Existing workforce may push back and introduce another age of teachers.
4.        Analytics will turn out to be increasingly predominant. You should simply observe a portion of the systematic capacities in learning the board frameworks to realize that there will be a torrent of new learning measurements to contemplate for understudies' and personnel's adequacy.

THE DIGITAL DIVIDE ISSUES
The greatest worry with this computerized learning increasing speed rotates around the advanced gap. You should simply converse with two educators - one from a very much supported school locale and another from a poor one - to see the computerized partition grinding away.
A few understudies aren't toting Chromebooks with advanced exercise plans. A few understudies don't have broadband. A few understudies need structure at home. Also, a few understudies need paper bundles and supervision.

The outbreak of COVID-19 and a lockdown to prevent the spread are threatening to impact manufacturing of steel groups.
Tata Steel is final down its downstream standalone devices in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh in step with steering from respective states. The main websites at Jamshedpur, Kaliganagar and Angul, however, are operational, as they may be process flora and subsequently have permission from neighborhood authorities, said sources.
One of India’s biggest metallic makers, Tata Steel’s consolidated crude metal manufacturing ability is at 19.6 million tonnes, with manufacturing facilities in Jamshedpur in Jharkhand, Kalinganagar and Dhenkanal in Odisha, Sahibabad in Uttar Pradesh and Khopoli in Maharashtra.
Apart from curbs on manufacturing gadgets, the clampdown on logistics became taking a toll on operations.
A spokesperson for ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) stated manufacturing become impacted because of COVID-19 issue, lower call for and curtailed logistics.
AM/NS India’s fundamental plant is at Hazira and has a downstream facility in Pune. AM/NS India has an achievable ability of 8.5 million tonnes.
Jindal Steel & Power Managing Director V R Sharma said JSPL flowers were all currently operational, however, if the state of affairs persisted for greater than a week then it might effect production. JSPL is looking ahead to to end 2020-2021 with a production of around 8.five million tonnes.
One of the primary troubles that has cropped up from the lockdown is that 80-85 in keeping with cent of trucks aren't shifting which is impacting despatches.
Sharma explained that on the incoming side, even as raw substances like iron ore, coking coal were moved to the plant with the aid of goods trains, smaller gadgets like consumables and spare parts, etc. have been moved with the aid of vehicles. Finished goods might be transported by way of trains but the trouble is that from the train to person enterprise, it would ought to use vans, he added. “We are therefore inquiring for the government to permit movement of vehicles for the industry. Trucks are a part and parcel of enterprise. Otherwise, we should head for a first-rate slowdown,” said Sharma. “Industry is the spine of the country. It ought to work,” he stated. Sharma cautioned that the running hours will be regulated and flora ought to operate with 50 in line with cent personnel and good enough precautions.
Regulating hours, however, would imply an impact on production. “But at the least minimal break-even may be achieved,” Sharma said.
At one give up, steel companies have been going through logistics problems, on the other, call for changed into decrease as maximum of the user industries were reeling from the effect of the lockdown. Many automakers had suspended manufacturing indefinitely in the wake of the virus outbreak. Construction, too, had come to a standstill, stated an enterprise source.
Auto bills for 15-16 consistent with cent of steel usage even as production and infrastructure round 60 in keeping with cent.

COVID-19 LOCKDOWN

Working from home: Your common challenges and how to tackle them

During the continuous COVID-19 corona-virus pandemic numerous associations are prescribing – and some requiring – that their staff telecommute.

For certain individuals, most outstandingly data laborers like designers (and writers), remote working is something with which they may as of now be natural.

However, for some different specialists and associations, this present circumstance will be their first experience of remote working, push on them by occasions. What's more, for the vast majority - even the individuals who may have in the past telecommuted every once in a while - this could turn into the longest timeframe away from their office and the remainder of their group they've needed to examine.

"In any event, when associations can use remote working arrangements, they should plan representatives who are not used to remote attempting to explore the difficulties in question," says Shainaz Firfiray, partner educator of Human Resource Management at Warwick Business School.

"This may incorporate making encouraging groups of people containing progressively experienced telecommuters who can enable these representatives to make an effective change to this new work structure."

Coronavirus: Effective methodologies and devices for remote work during a pandemic

There's bounty that both staff and chiefs can do to make this time of telecommuting a superior encounter for everybody included. Also, to truly see how to work remotely most successfully, it merits paying attention to the experience of individuals who've been doing it more routinely and for longer than the greater part of us.

GitLab as of late studied 3,000 information laborers who either worked remotely or had the choice to work remotely. To begin with, the uplifting news. Most offered WFH an excited go-ahead: 90% said they would prescribe home attempting to a companion, and 84% said they could achieve every one of their undertakings remotely - and that their supervisors comprehended what it took to deal with a group of telecommuters.

In any case, they additionally recognized that there are critical drawbacks to working from home.

Knowing where the issues with telecommuting can happen implies we can be more ready to maintain a strategic distance from them ourselves during this time of surprising WFH. Here's a once-over of the greatest difficulties they've distinguished, with a couple of thoughts for how to avoid them.

Top of the rundown: about half (47%) referenced the trouble of overseeing at-home interruptions. I would likely subdivide those further into interferences and interruptions.

Interferences originate from outside, similar to a thump at the entryway from a conveyance driver requesting that you take in a bundle for a neighbor. Other potential interferences; family and pets and companions who neglect to comprehend that since you are at home, you are as yet working. Shut entryways, don't upset signs and commotion dropping earphones all prove to be useful. Additional telecommuting tips here.

Interruptions are marginally unique. These are generally the aftereffect of being in an alternate situation to the one which you are utilized to, and that implies propensities are disturbed and needs get jumbled.

In the workplace your needs are (for the most part) all around characterized – you're there to work. At home your needs are extraordinary; having some good times, cooking, eating, cleaning, staring at the TV – nearly by definition everything not business related.

Carrying work into the home, particularly if it's just because, particularly now, confounds the entirety of this. It likewise makes you want to consolidate the two, which is the reason you'll attempt to wash the dishes while on a telephone call (and indeed, everybody will know). Here the arrangement is around building another work routine so centering is simpler. That is the reason each arrangement of remote working tips discusses getting up and getting dressed, and endeavoring to work standard hours. On the off chance that you can, work in a specific spot in your home regular so that becomes related with fixation.

One out of three home specialists (35%) stressed over working together with associates and customers. There are a lot of devices to keep circulated groups synchronized, from the nuts and bolts of email through to Slack, Microsoft Teams and videoconferencing applications like Zoom.

Be that as it may, there is likewise a motivation behind why there are such huge numbers of these devices: they all have shortcomings and none of them can catch the full wealth of physical eye to eye human communication. Specifically, depending on content just choices like email is probably going to make it harder to cooperate and to make misconstruing substantially more likely. A briskly composed email or seriously stated Slack remark can be effectively misread and endeavors at cleverness can undoubtedly bomb gravely, particularly when individuals are nervous as of now.
