IoT (Internet of Things): Our Future

Life with IoT:
In just one year alone, we went from having 5 million IoT devices connected to the internet to billions.

The future is happening now, and these devices are getting smarter every day through machine learning and artificial intelligence. IoT devices are becoming a part of the conventional electronics culture and people are adopting smart devices into their homes faster than ever. It is estimated that there will be up to 21 billion connected devices to the internet. IoT devices will be a huge part of how we interact with everyday objects. There is big money in the IoT space currently, and it will only continue to grow as technology improves. The more data that IoT devices collect, the smarter they will become. Cities will transform into Smart Cities through the use of IoT connected devices. Think of Smart Traffic Lights that collect data on traffic, and use that data to synchronized lights to peak traffic times.

Overall, this improves cities overall efficiency and saves the government money since everything can be remotely managed. Smart homes, thermostats, lighting systems and coffee makers will all collect data on your habits and patterns of usage. All this data will be collected to help facilitate Machine Learning.

How do we security to these devices?
With the billions of IoT devices connected to the open internet, how do we ensure these devices are secure?
Encryption Scheme: AES vs. TLS/SSL
Encryption can solve a complicated problem. When people think about encryption, many will turn to TLS/SSL, however, these protocols don’t cut it for encryption and processing. The reason these protocols aren’t optimal is they are point-to-point solutions and not end-to-end solutions. When data has to go through many different points on the chain, we are going to have to account for different security protocols and devices. This requires a security solution like AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) since it provides end-to-end security, and encrypts the message all the way through. Only devices with the encryption keys can decrypt the encrypted data as it’s sent and received.

AES also allows you to wrap the message body with AES and leave all the actionable data in TLS. Actionable data, for instance, would be temperature information that you are trying to read. In addition, we need to prevent all inbound ports from being open at all costs since this can leave your IoT devices open to vulnerabilities and DDOS attacks. Devices should only make outbound connections, so that way the door is closed to accessing applications and services behind those open ports. The connection outward can be left open so the device can listen in with a secure tunnel back from the network.
Rather than trying to fit all of the IoT Protocols on top of existing architecture models like OSI Model, we have divided the protocols into the following layers to provide some level of organization:

  1. Infrastructure (ex: 6LowPAN, IPv4/IPv6, RPL)
  2. Identification (ex: EPC, uCode, IPv6, URIs)
  3. Comms / Transport (ex: Wifi, Bluetooth, LPWAN)
  4. Discovery (ex: Physical Web, mDNS, DNS-SD)
  5. Data Protocols (ex: MQTT, CoAP, AMQP, Websocket, Node)
  6. Device Management (ex: TR-069, OMA-DM)
  7. Semantic (ex: JSON-LD, Web Thing Model)
  8. Multi-layer Frameworks (ex: Alljoyn, IoTivity, Weave, Homekit)

Conclude: Machine learning and IoT together can do a miracle in today's modern technology, if both of them are used with good understanding.

COVID -19 EFFECTS

The COVID-19 is creating havoc on different countries all over the world. It caused a health crisis as well as shutting down economies because of social distancing.

It also effect earth’s environment as it restricted the movement of human beings.
In few days, we surely witness a big difference in the quality of air. Due to CORONA already air pollution is reducing reason being factories, industries and all forms of transportations is on halt.
According to the reports CHINA and ITALY industrial areas are showing drops in nitrogen dioxide. Reductions on the amount of vehicles on the roads are one of main impacts of work from home and social distancing.
Industrial activities are reduced but not all of them. For example, Power Plants are running to produce Electricity, Water Treatment plants that are needed to treat water.
In Venice, the pandemic is resulted in unusually clear water in Canals. It may be lack of boat traffic.  Accordingly, may be this Virus is putting our mother Earth in time out for a while...while she cleans up the mess people made.

In THAILAND and JAPAN, mobs of monkeys and other animals are roaming in streets because of no tourist on the road.

Although all of the above effects are temporary and an economical effect will depend on how countries, respond to the crisis. As all population around the world is taking precaution against COVID-19, I think one of the main thing about it that earth bounces back, It’s kind of different and interesting point about the moment is that everyone is under a lot of stress and in condition of panic and by reconnecting with the natural world   it may help them to deal with their current mental condition.

On top of Air and Water, Wildlife may respond to changes too. We have noticed how many birds are chirping outside. A hope is needed when we get back to natural, whatever that may look like, and we can hold the balance between work, family and the whole environment. This is the thing which will give real peace to us.

FACTORING: A TOOL OF RECEIVABLES MANAGEMENT

FACTORING: A TOOL OF RECEIVABLES MANAGEMENT
INTRODUCTION
The word FACTOR has been derived from the latin word “FACERE” which means to make or to do.

Factoring is a financial transaction where a firm sells its ACCOUNT RECEIVABLES (invoice) to a third party called a FACTOR at a discounted prices .
Factoring is a financial option for the management of receivables. In others words, it is the conversion of Credit Sales into Cash.
A financial institution (factor) buys the account receivables of a company (client) & pays upto 80% of amount immediately on formation of agreement & remaining amount (balance 20%) to client when the customer pays debt .
PARTIES IN FACTORING
THE SELLER, who has produced the goods & raised invoice
THE BUYER, the consumer of goods & party to pay
THE FACTOR, the financial institution that advances the portion of funds to the seller.

ADVANTAGES OF FACTORING
·      Improved efficiency
·      Improved his credit standing position
·      Flexible to the company
·      Improved cash flow
·      Meet seasonable demands
·      Better purchase planning
·      Saves the management time & effort
·      Avoid bad debts
·      Ensures better management of receivables
·      Improve the liquidity of clients
FUNCTIONS OF FACTORING
·      Maintain Accounts: The factor maintains the client’s sale ledger relating to the receivables & also provide periodic reports .
·      Provision of collection facility: The factor undertakes to collect the receivables on behalf of client relieving the client .
·      Financing: The factor provides advance money to client against outstanding debt of about 80 % & balance minus commission on maturity.
·      Credit Protection: The factoring organization is required to ascertain the creditworthiness & feasibility position of buyer .
·      Advisory Services: The factor is also able to provide advisory service ( financial dealing , extensive credit information ) to client .

MECHANISM OF FACTORING:
1) INTERACTION WITH FUNDING SPECIALIST: The seller interacts with funding specialist / broker & explain the funding needs.
2)   PRELIMINARY CLIENT PROFILE: The broker prepares a preliminary client profile form & submit to funder.
3)  NEGOTIATE CUSTOMISED FACTORING AGREEMENT: Once both party agree that factoring is possible, the broker puts the seller in direct contact with funder for further queries.
4)   LEGAL RESEARCH COST: The seller may be asked to remit fee which incurred during “DUE DILIGENCE”.
5)  DUE DELIGENCE: This is the process by which the buyer’s creditworthiness is evaluated & verified invoices etc.
6)   ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: The seller submits an acknowledge copy of contract to factor for records.
7)  SANCTION LETTER: A detailed sanction letter is given to the seller & their acceptance with required signatories.
8)   DISCOUNTING RATES: The discount rate, charges are fixed at time of contract.
9) SIGNING OF AGREEMENT & INITIAL ADVANCE TO THE CLIENT: Usually within 7 to 10 days of initial contact with factor, agreements are signed , customers are notified , UNIQUE CLIENT CODE & the first advance (80%) is forwarded to company.
10)   COMPLETION ACTIVITIES:
·      The sellers services or delivers products, thus creating an invoice.
·      The seller sends copy of invoice directly to the factor.
·  The funder verifies the invoice & the advance is sent to the seller as per the agreement
·      The buyer pays the factor, then the factor returns any remaining reserve, minus the fee which has been predetermined in the negotiated agreement.

BILL DISCOUNTING VS FACTORING
BILL DISCOUNTING
FACTORING
It is a provision of finance against the bills .
Factoring includes renders all services like maintenance of ledger , advisory services etc.
Advances are made against the bills .
Trade debts are purchased .
Bill discounting is always with recourse, i.e. in case of default the client will make good the loss .
Factoring may be with recourse or without recourse .
Bill discounting is always disclosed ( acceptor of bill is fully aware )|
Factoring services may be like “undisclosed factoring” are confidential in nature .

CONCLUSION:
In factoring a company or firm covert its receivables into cash by selling them to a factoring agent or institution at discount. the factor assumes the risk of collection & loss of debts fall on the factor.
Keywords: Client, Factor, Funder, discount, receivables, credit, financing.

CLASSIFICATION AND ADVANTAGES/DISADVANTAGES OF ROBOTS

CLASSIFICATION AND ADVANTAGES/DISADVANTAGES OF ROBOTS
Classification of Robots:
The following is the classification of robots according to the Japanese Industrial Robot Association (JIRA):

Class 1: Manual handling device: A device with multiple degrees of freedom, actuate by the operator.
Class 2: Fixed Sequence Robot: A device that performs the next steps of a task according to a predetermined, immutable method, it is difficult to modify.
Class 3: Variable Sequence Robot: Same as in Class 2, but easy to modify.
Class 4: Playback Robot: The human operator performs the task manually by running the robot, which then records the moves for playback; The robot repeats the same movements as recorded.
Class 5: Numerical Control Robot: The operator supplies the robot with a vibration program without manually teaching the work.
Class 6: Intelligent Robot: Robot to understand its environment and ability to successfully complete a task despite changes in the environment.
The Robotics Institute of America (RIA) only considers class 3-6 as Robots. The Association Francaise de Robotic (AFR) has the following classification:
Type A: Maintaining equipment with manual control for telerobotics.
Type B: Automatic handling equipment with predetermined wheels.
Type C: Programmable, servo-controlled robots with continuous or point-to-point Channels.
Type D: Same as C but with the ability to retrieve information from its environment.

Advantages of Robots:

·      Robotics and automation are, in many cases, increase productivity, security, products, quality and sustainability of products.
·      Robots can operate in hazardous environments such as radiation, darkness, heat and cold marine support, space and so on without the need for life support, comfort or concern for security.
·      Robots do not need an environment like lighting, air conditioning, ventilation and noise protection.
·      Robots work constantly without fatigue or fatigue or boredom. They don't get it there is no madness, no hangovers and no medical insurance or leave.
·      Robots have repeatable accuracy at all times, unless something happens unless they are worn.
·      Robots are far more accurate than humans. Some of the simplest linear accuracy one thousandth of an inch. The new layer-handling robots have micro-inch precision.
·      Robots and their tools and sensors have capabilities beyond humans
·      Robots can process multiple stimuli or tasks at once. Only humans can process it an active stimulus.
·      Workers robots replace human labour, causing economic hardship and worker dissatisfaction and resentment, and the need to regain a replacement workforce.

Disadvantages of Robots:
Robots are not capable of responding to emergencies unless the situation is  included in the response system. They need security measures to do so operators and other machines working with them should not be injured. These include
·      Inappropriate or incorrect responses.
·      Lack of decision-making power.
·      Loss of energy.
·      Damage to the robot and other equipment.
·      Injuries to humans.
Robots, although superior in some senses, have limited capabilities:
·      Knowledge, creativity, decision making and awareness.
·      Degrees of freedom and ability.
·      Sensors and vision systems.
·      Real-time response.
Robots are expensive because of:
·      Initial cost of equipment and installation.
·      Peripherals required.
·      Training is required.
·      Programming required.

HEALTH AND FITNESS

HEALTH AND FITNESS

‘Health is wealth’ and ‘fitness is the key’. What does the health means? Health means ‘being well’, we call a person healthy if he/she fit physically as well as mentally.

Factor affecting our health
Our health and fitness is not something which can achieve on our own. It depends on the physical environment and quality of food they take. Pollution free environment directly affect our fitness. Our habits also determine our fitness level. The quality of food, water and air we intake, all affects our fitness level.
Role of Diet on fitness
The first thing which affects our fitness is food. We must take food which is full of nutritious it means food rich in protein, vitamins, minerals, and carbohydrates. Protein is good for body growth; carbohydrates provide the energy for performing various tasks. Vitamins and minerals build bones and boost our immune system which helps us to fight diseases.
However, taking food in uneven quantity is not good for our health, Taking essential minerals in proper amount are good for health and it is called balanced diet. Balanced diet keeps us fit and healthy. Good food helps us in better sleep, proper functioning of brain, and proper healthy body weight.

Healthy food saves us from many diseases. Reducing the amount of fat in our food prevents us from cholesterol and heart diseases. Roughage helps in cleaning inner body organs.

Impact of Exercise on our health
Exercise is essential for our health, Routine exercise help us to improve muscle power. Exercise helps good oxygen supply and blood flow throughout the body. Heart Lungs and other parts of bodywork efficiently. Our bones get strong and have pain less movement in joint. Exercise also lower our blood sugar level and improve the insulin to work better. Exercise make easy to quit smoking. Exercise releases some chemicals in our body that can improve our mood and deal with stress so reduce the risk of depression.

We should spend at least thirty minutes in exercise. Daily morning walk improve our immune system. Exercise burns our fat and controls the cholesterol level in our body which prevents us from heart diseases. We should also play various outdoor games like cricket, football, volleyball etc to keep us fit. Regular exercise maintains our body fit.
Meditation and Yoga
From ancient time meditation and yoga are the part of our life. They make us physically as well as mentally strong. Meditation also improves our concentration level and our thinking become positive. Yoga makes us stress free it also control our blood pressure. Meditation is the best way to fight with depression.

Conclusion
A Person stays happy only when he/she is healthy, because healthy person is less prone to chronic diseases. The healthy mind reacts better in pressure situation and also the self-confidence of a person is increased. Cholesterol level is reduced so risk of heart failure is reduced. Increases the immunity power could fight with cancerous cells. The intensity of bone breakage and fracture is decreased with regular exercise.
